Elisefarm Golf Course
The owners Ingrid Linné and Lars Ingesson together with Master Pro Hasse Bergdahl | ELISEFARM - ONE OF THE BEST 10 NEW COURSES IN EUROPE ! According to The Golfer Magazine.
Elisefarm Golf Course opened in August 2005 and is the first Hawtree design in Sweden since the Old Course at Båstad was designed by FG Hawtree in 1928. The Hawtree family has been associated with numerous championship courses such as Royal Birkdale, Portmarnock, Royal Dublin, Lahinch and latest work has been carried out at Royal Melbourne.
Martin Hawtree, the grandson of FG Hawtree, has designed Elisefarm Golf Course to display some of the recognizable Hawtree bunkers and green surrounds. With careful attention and respect for the existing landscape the course is being created with the classical British golf course as the role model - deeply rooted in the history of the game.
The Hawtree philosophy of creating a fair and challenging course for all players regardless of skill level also holds true for Elisefarm GC where four sets of tees allow players to choose a tee that suits their game. Furthermore the hazards on the course will challenge the players to consider different strategies and test their courage.
The first 18 holes of Elisefarm Golf Course. | The course is arranged in two loops of 9 holes to offer two starting points and give the players a choice of playing 9 or 18 holes. When Elisefarm is fully developed it will consist of four loops of 9 holes making it easy to hold tournaments or do maintenance work without closing the whole course. The site for the golf course has great views of Ringsjön and the surrounding landscape. The layout has emphasized this great position by directing the players view towards Ringsjön as they play the course.
During construction we have come across large stones that are now some of the unique features of the course. A big part of the construction work has been a project to improve the water quality in the existing ponds and brooks. As a result of this new lakes and brooks has been constructed which not only act as hazards for the players, but also help cleaning the water.
The club house is ideally located between the two practice greens with a great view across the pond to the 18th green situated on the very edge of the pond. The house is an old farm house that has been delicately developed with a great little restaurant, pro shop, hotel and conference facilities.
